Terms and conditions

Last updated 13 August 2026.

These terms apply when you buy from The Olive Guy. Placing an order means you accept them.

Orders

An order placed through this site is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we confirm it by email. If something is unavailable, or we cannot deliver to your address, we will contact you and refund anything already paid.

We may decline an order. If we do, we will tell you why and you will not be charged.

Prices and payment

  • Prices are in Australian dollars and are shown on the shop page.
  • Delivery is $5 within the delivery area. Pickup is free.
  • Card payments are processed by Stripe. Bank transfer, PayID and cash on pickup are also accepted.
  • For orders paid by bank transfer or PayID, goods are reserved once the order is placed and released once payment is received.

Prices can change, but never after you have placed an order. The price you were shown at checkout is the price you pay.

Delivery and pickup

We deliver within the areas listed on the delivery page. Delivery timeframes are estimates rather than guarantees, because deliveries are made personally. If a delivery is going to be late you will be told.

For pickup orders, collection is arranged directly with you. Orders not collected within 30 days, after reasonable attempts to contact you, may be cancelled and refunded less any costs incurred.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights. Where we limit our liability, we do so only to the extent the law allows.

Food product

Olive oil is a natural agricultural product. Colour, aroma and flavour vary between harvests, and oil may become cloudy in cold conditions. Neither is a fault. Storage advice is on the FAQ page, and oil stored in heat or light will deteriorate faster than oil kept properly.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to goods bought from us is limited to replacing the goods or refunding what you paid for them. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Website content

The text, photographs and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. Information about olive oil generally, including health related content, is provided for general interest only. It is not medical or dietary advice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
